ISP Grand Final Qualifier Team List - Jets v Panthers

A victory over Mounties last Saturday brings the Newtown Jets face to face with the Intrust Super Premiership minor premiers in the Panthers, with the prize for the winner a place in the Grand Final the following weekend.

The Jets were dominant for 60 minutes of their match against Mounties, racing to a 32-2 lead before taking their foot off the pedal somewhat in registering a 34-16 win, however it was an attacking performance that has put this week's opponents on notice.

A loss in week one of the finals to the Dragons was a hiccup, but in turning around the fortunes in spectacular fashion, the Jets will head to Leichhardt Oval on Saturday in a confident frame of mind.

For the Jets, Will Kennedy at the back was outstanding, Briton Nikora was a constant threat and Kyle Flanagan and Blayke Brailey controlled proceedings in the middle, with more of the same required if they hope to beat the Penrith side and progress to the ISP decider the following week.

While the Jets are to the most part unchanged from the side what won last week, a big inclusion could be that of big front rower Braden Uele, who has been added to an extended interchange bench.

Uele has been out of action with a knee problem.

The Newtown v Penrith qualifying final is scheduled for a 1.10pm kick off at Leichhardt Oval, with the match to be shown live on Channel 9 for those fans unable to get to the ground.
