ISP Team List - Jets v Magpies

A big win at their last start over the Warriors has the Newtown Jets in the box seat in the race for a top four berth but before celebrations can begin, they must beat the Wests Magpies in a crucial final round clash at Henson Park on Saturday.

The Jets enter the game in third position on the Intrust Super Premiership ladder but level on 28 points with the fifth-placed Magpies, with the winner on Saturday to seal a top four spot, while the loser will wait on the result of the Bulldogs game the following day before final places can be confirmed.

In the Jets favour, they head into the contest full of confidence after racking up 50-points in the win over the Warriors.

Five eighth Jack Williams crossed for three tries, winger Sione Katoa two, with the Jets playing an enterprising brand of football despite the difficult weather conditions which prevailed on the day.

Adding merit to the Jets victory against the New Zealand side was the fact they were missing front rowers Ava Seumanfagai and Kurt Dillon, with the former held back as 18th man for the Sharks NRL squad, while Dillon suffered a quadriceps injury at training during the week.

While neither have been named, NRL team selection and Dillon's pending fitness may see them available for the Newtown side on Saturday.

The Jets v Magpies match will be played at the earlier time of 1.00pm at Henson Park on Saturday, due to the fact the game will be televised live on Channel 9.

The Jets team is listed below.
