ISP Team List - Jets v Panthers

While the regular Jets supporters will again be out in force, the Beer, Footy and Food Festival on Saturday will ensure extra support, big crowd and an outstanding atmosphere when Newtown play the Penrith Panthers in an important round 20 Intrust Super Premiership match.

The Jets consolidated third position on the ladder with a win on Sunday, however they face a further test of their credentials against the ladder-leading Panthers this weekend.

The Jets jumped out to a 22-6 lead against Wentworthville, only to allow the Magpies to claw their way back into the contest, with the final score line of 22-18 a fair indication of the fight the Jets had on their hands.

Again the Jets will be dependent on what Sharks players are required in the NRL, although as had been the case throughout the 2018 season, they will again rely on the guile and direction of two of the youngest members of the team to get the job done on Saturday.

Half-back Kyle Flanagan and hooker Blayke Brailey have been in outstanding form for the Newtown side and similar performances will be required if the Jets are to topple the competition leaders.

And while the action on the field is set to be fast and furious, just as enticing will be the annual Newtown Beer, Footy and Food Festival which is taking place on the Henson Park Hill.

Fans can sample a variety of craft beers and different food options in what is one of the highlight afternoons on the Jets calendar each year.

Kick-off to the Jets v Panthers game is scheduled for 3.00pm, with a Jersey Flegg fixture, featuring the Sharks and Panthers, the curtain-raiser at 12.45pm.
