The Jets, still winless four rounds into the season, face their traditional rivals the North Sydney Bears at Henson Park in a round Canterbury Cup game on Saturday.
In their first game at their spiritual home of Henson Park this season, the Jets will again be tested by a Bears side in outstanding form and heading into the game on the back of a 40-point win at their last start.
In defence of the Jets in their round four loss to Wentworthville, a mounting injury toll at the Sharks had an impact on the Newtown line-up, with forwards Ava Seumanufagai and Braden Uele, as well as halfback Kyle Flanagan, withdrawn from the team less than 24-hours prior to kick off.
This week in their game against the Bears the Jets have again named a team missing a number of their Sharks regulars, however on the flip side a handful of young guns get their opportunity to impress at a Canterbury Cup level.
