- Biography:
A powerful prop with a penchant for scoring tries, Ellie Johnston has established herself as one of the NRLW's most impactful and consistent forwards.
The 25-year-old grew up on a 50-acre farm outside of Taree, and her first taste of footy was passing a ball with her dad in the back paddock.
She represented Australia as a 17-year-old at the Junior Indoor Netball World Series but ultimately decided to pursue rugby league.
Making her debut with the Dragons in 2020, before two seasons with the Eels, and then landing in Cronulla for the club's inaugural season in 2024.
Ellie helped the Sharks make the Grand Final that same year and earned her long-awaited NSW and Australian debuts in 2025.
She was the first player to bring up 50 NRLW games while wearing the black, white and blue of Cronulla.
In the off-season, Johnston loves going back home, riding horses, and competing in barrel racing and rodeos.
