John Morris’ NYC Sharks team will travel to Belmore Oval on Saturday to take on the Canterbury Bulldogs in their Round 13 catch up match.

After a brave 35-28 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys in their last start, Morris’ men will look to reclaim their early season form and aim to solidify their position in the top 8.

The Sharks play some enterprising football at times however lacked genuine intent in defence at times and the Cowboys made them pay in the end.

After taking an early lead against the North Queensland side, the Sharks were unable to match their opponents and couldn’t reign their opposition back in.

Morris will be hoping his side make the most of their clash against the 15th placed Bulldogs with a tough run of matches against the NZ Warriors, Parramatta Eels and Penrith Panthers ahead.

Regular five-eighth Jack Williams is currently the only named omission from the side which took on the Cowboys after he took the early guilty plea in a dangerous contact charge.

The Sharks forward pack have been led strongly by their inform captain Jayden Brailey, backrower Tony Matautia and lock Jayden McDonogh and will be hoping these players can continue to lay the platform for them on Saturday.

SG Ball hooker Blake Brailey will make his second appearance after a successful debut last weekend and again have the chance to run out alongside his brother Jayden.

The game is even more crucial for Morris’ men as they will be playing for four points in what is the Bye Round.

The game will also be the second wash out match for the NYC side following their washed out Round 3 clash against the Manly Sea Eagles.

The match will take place at Belmore Sports Ground on Saturday, June 18 at 3pm.
