‘Thank you’: Sharks giving back for Member Appreciation Round

The Sharks will host Member Appreciation Round this Sunday against the Rabbitohs at Ocean Protect Stadium, recognising the club’s 17,729 loyal supporters.

Last year, Cronulla set a club membership record of 17,923, and there is still time to surpass that milestone. Hoping to hit 18,000 members before the end of the season, with the support of official Membership partner Quest Apartment Hotels.

The Sharks are offering a Sunday Fun-Pass for the Rabbitohs match at $40 for kids and $50 for adults, which gets you into the game, makes you a member and gives you access to exclusive merch.

As a gesture of appreciation, members are exclusively invited to watch the NRL team train this Saturday, August 1. Where they’ll get to sit in the ET Stand, cheer on the boys at captain’s run, and participate in a short signing session post-training.

Some lucky members have also been randomly selected for the experience of a lifetime on gameday, including:

  • One member will do the coin toss
  • 16 members will be on the field to watch the team warm up
  • 19 young members will get to run out with the team before kick-off
  • One member will deliver the match ball
  • One member will ring the Shark Alarm
  • One member will receive the Aramex special delivery
  • 20 members will form a guard of honour as the team runs out

Cronulla CEO Dino Mezzatesta expressed his gratitude to the Sharks faithful.

“It’s a great reminder 10 years on from our first premiership, just how special our members are.”

“Those that have stuck by the club, through the good times and the bad, on that long journey toward Premiership glory, and as we pursue hopefully many more to come. Thank you for being black, white and blue,” Mezzatesta shared.

Craig Fitzgibbon echoed those sentiments:

“We’re very grateful for your ongoing support. There’s nothing quite like it when the Sharks are playing, and the Shire is buzzing.”

“The boys can feel it too. Every year they get up for Members Round; it means a lot to them to represent you and show how much you mean to us,” Fitzgibbon said.

Sharks’ chief energy officer, Ronaldo Mulitalo, loves these occasions.

“The whole time I was coming back from my knee injury, I kept dreaming about running out in front of our members and fans again. They inspired me to keep going.”

“We’ll be playing for you, and we’ll do you proud,” Mulitalo said.

In another shout-out to long-time members, Cronulla will run out in this year's Heritage jersey on Sunday at Ocean Protect Stadium with kick-off at 2pm.

The NRLW Sharks will be in Wagga Wagga for Magic Round this weekend, but the club will hold an NRLW Members-Only Captain’s Run Experience on Saturday, August 22.
