With an appearance in the playoffs now an extremely difficult assignment, the NYC Sharks will put pride on the line when they face the Melbourne Storm at Remondis Stadium in a stand-alone game on Saturday afternoon.

The young Sharks were competitive for long periods before going down by 32-22 to the second-placed Cowboys last weekend, with the loss meaning they are in the ‘mathematically possible’ but ‘somewhat unlikely’ category when it comes to playing finals football.

Nothing short of a win will do and the first task for the young Sharks will be beating a Storm side similarly on the outside of the top eight and equally desperate for the two competition points.

Due to the travelling and work commitments of the NYC teams the match is now scheduled as a stand-alone fixture on Saturday afternoon, rather than as the lead-in match to the NRL fixture on Monday night.

Kick off will be at 2.00pm, with entry to Remondis Stadium free.
