Some would suggest the appearance of Thelma Spencer at the Sharks v Knights game was perhaps the highlight of the weekend, with the 108-year-old Sharks fan in the stands cheering her team on, then in the dressing room joining in the victory song at Hunter Stadium on Sunday.

Barry Toohey produced an outstanding story on Thelma in the Sunday Telegraph with the Sharks social channels showing the post-match scenes and celebrations.

Also in the news this week was the Sharks signing of Roosters five-eighth James Maloney on a three-year deal, while Paul Gallen’s rib cartilage injury and his potential unavailability for State of Origin 3 was a popular topic of discussion.

Then last night and today the Sharks exciting victory over the Newcastle Knights yesterday makes for enjoyable reading for Cronulla fans.
