One point ahead against the second-placed Eels with five minutes to go the NYC Sharks were run down in suffering another heart-breaking loss but again in a positive the performance showed the young Cronulla side is more than competitive against the best teams in the Holden Cup.

Traveling to New Zealand for a match with the Warriors however they will again need to be near their best if they hope to challenge one of the perennial hot shots in the under 20’s competition.

While again missing two of their leading lights in Valentine Holmes and Fa’amanu Brown who will both play in the NRL match for the Sharks, the NYC side takes on a settled look, with the addition of Sage Wilder on a five man bench the only change to the team which took to the field last week.

Should they hope to enjoy any success in Auckland the Sharks will need strong performances from some of their more seasoned players such as skipper Anthony Moraitis, back rower Patrice Siolo and five eighth Jaden Clarke.

The match against the Warriors is scheduled for an 11.40am kick-off (Sydney time – 1.40pm local time) at Mount Smart Stadium on Sunday.
