It took them a while to warm up, falling behind 12-0 to the Rabbitohs early, but once the Jets found their rhythm they continued on their winning ways to consolidate their position on top of the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup ladder with a 42-18 victory over Souths last weekend.
In front of a huge crowd at the annual Beer, Footy and Food Festival day at Henson Park, with the convincing win the Newtown side again showed they will be a force in the KOE NSW Cup competition as the season approaches the business end.
One point clear of the Panthers at the top of the table, the Jets can take another step towards a minor premiership should they be able to get the better of a Dragons team this week who are desperate for a victory to stay in the hunt for a Finals berth.
The Jets have named a side to face the St George Illawarra side with a similar look to the one which was successful last weekend, however they will be without Braydon Trindall, the half back named on the Sharks interchange match for their NRL clash with the Dragons.
In a positive however, the Jets welcome the return of hooker Jayden Berrell after he missed the match against Souths last weekend.
The ever-reliable Rhys Davies, hooker last week against the Rabbits, slots into the half back position in place of Trindall.
