SDP back better than ever in 2022

Entering its seventh year, the Sharks Skills Development Program (SDP) returns in 2022, with highly qualified coaches and NRL stars past and present to pass on their vast rugby league knowledge to all those taking part.

To be conducted at Pointsbet Stadium, where participants can experience the same training environment and facilities as the Sharks NRL squad, the 2022 Sharks SDP is now accepting applications.

A program designed by Cronulla Sharks Academy and Talent Identification Manager Glenn Brailey, a man with a long history of coaching achievement.

At a local level, Brailey coached a junior club team to 10 consecutive premierships, he currently oversees the Sharks Junior Reps and Pathways programs, with his coaching experience also including nine years at the Cronulla club, State and National Championship success as head coach of the 20xxx Matthews Cup Sharks and stints as Coach of the Samoa Women’s national squad and of the Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s team.

Brailey has designed a program which is committed to providing professionally organised coaching to all juniors seeking to improve their Rugby League skills and techniques.

Ideal for both beginners as well as experienced players aged between 5 and 12, both boys and girls, the SDP targets aspiring juniors, with each participant taught core skills while placing an emphasis on effective tackling techniques, firm in the belief safe and correct tackling is a crucial aspect of Junior Rugby league.

The players will also be analysed by the collection of high-level coaches to guarantee the outcomes of the program are being achieved.

And not only will those taking part train like NRL players, they will also have the opportunity to perform like them on the big stage, with SDP participants invited to play during pre-game and half-time at a Sharks home game during the 2022 season (Rounds and Dates TBC).

The program runs for four sessions, over four weeks, and represents the perfect preparation for the upcoming Junior League season.

See below more information including the cost of the program, session dates and times, inclusions and key focus areas.
