Tarsha Sharks win their way into the Grand Final

Two tries to winger Chloe Shepherd and another to centre partner Makayla Vakauta has propelled the Tarsha Gale Cup Sharks into the competition Grand Final following a narrow 14-12 victory over Newcastle.

After the two teams went to the break with the scores locked together at 10-all, the Knights went ahead courtesy of a penalty goal, however a second four-pointer from Shepherd would prove to be enough to seal the result.

The Sharks were forced to show plenty of character and resilience when Sophia Brightwell was sin-binned with six minutes of the match remaining, however they would defend their line and hold firm in booking themselves a place in the Tarsha Gale Cup decider next weekend.

Waiting for the Under-19 Cronulla girls will be the Parramatta Eels, who scored a comprehensive 28-6 win over the Indigenous Academy in the other Grand Final qualifying match.

The two Grand Final teams met once during the 2026 season, the Eels scoring a narrow 10-6 win back in round two.

Sharks Media will communicate kick off times and the game venue when confirmed.
