It was a much-improved performance from the Jets last weekend in finishing in a draw with the North Sydney Bears.
Coming off a 40-point thumping at the hands of the Raiders the previous week, the Jets held the upper hand for most of the game against the Bears, before a late Norths try saw the teams finish in a 20-all draw.
Fullback Luke Metcalf continued his strong form with two tries in the match.
With the injury issues being faced by the Sharks NRL squad, again Newtown will field a young and inexperienced line up for this week’s round six match against the Newcastle Knights.
The match, their first at their spiritual home of Henson Park in 2022, takes on extra significance with the Jets to honour Tom Raudonikis, the former Newtown skipper passing away last week.
The game is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick off at Henson Park.
