Rudolf a ‘Fletch’ favourite

His outstanding form, coupled with an outgoing personality, made Toby Rudolf one of the Sharks most popular performers in season 2020.

The rampaging front rower played all but one game last season, the match he missed coming as a result of being rested on the eve of the finals by coach John Morris, with Rudolf making an impression in his first year in the top grade.

His play on the field and quirky nature off it, also caught the eye of the media, with Brian Fletcher amongst those intrigued by the Sharks big man, requesting Rudolf for a chat on the Joel and Fletch radio show which airs on SEN 1170.

In an entertaining interview which took place on Thursday afternoon, Rudolf covered a handful of topics, from serious footy issues including his decision to remain at the Sharks in 2021, to some more lighthearted banter where it was revealed he believes his flowing locks have Sampson-like qualities in enabling him to perform on the field.

The interview also detailed his rugby league journey which ultimately saw him arrive at the Sharks and who amongst his teammates he thinks has led the way at pre-season training so far.

Fletch also hit him with a series of questions in the ‘Sharks quiz’, with Rudolf earning a pass mark for his knowledge of the Cronulla club.

The Joel and Fletch Show, featuring Joel Caine and Brian Fletcher, has gone into a Christmas break but will return in the drive slot, from 3 until 6pm, in the New Year on SEN 1170.

Former Sharks legend Brett Kimmorley takes over a co-host next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
