Sharks stepping up for Zambrero's Plate 4 Plate Day

Continuing a proud partnership, the Sharks will once again support major partner Zambrero's mission to help end world hunger by getting behind Plate 4 Plate Day on Thursday, October 15.

Plate 4 Plate Day brings together thousands of volunteers across Australia to pack nutritious meals for communities experiencing food insecurity, with Zambrero targeting one million meals packed in a single day in 2026.

Sharks staff will join volunteers at Carriageworks in Sydney to assemble meals, something the club has done since 2022. Packing sites will also be set up in Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Gold Coast, Townsville and Hobart, all contributing to this year's goal of packing 1,000,000 meals for communities in need.

The meal packs will be distributed through Zambrero's international hunger relief partner, Rise Against Hunger, which works with communities around the world to provide nutritious meals to those experiencing food insecurity.

Plate 4 Plate was founded by Zambrero founder Dr Sam Prince, with the initiative now having donated more than 100 million meals since its inception.

The Sharks have proudly supported Plate 4 Plate Day for several years, continuing a partnership that gives the Club and its people an opportunity to contribute beyond the footy field.

While the meal-packing venues for this year's event are now fully booked, Sharks fans can still play their part on Plate 4 Plate Day.

Simply visiting a Zambrero restaurant on Thursday, October 15 and purchasing a participating burrito, bowl or Kids Zam meal will help support the initiative, with donations doubled across more than 350 Zambrero restaurants.

It's an easy way to enjoy some Feel Good Mex while helping Zambrero work towards its goal of packing one million meals for communities in need.
