NRL Team List - Sharks v Raiders

A patched-up Sharks side without key playmakers Shaun Johnson and Chad Townsend host the Canberra Raiders in their final regular season game on Saturday night.

Johnson underwent surgery on his ruptured Achilles today, while Townsend has one more week to serve of a three-game suspension, with coach John Morris opting for Connor Tracey and skipper Wade Graham as his halves pairing when the Sharks team was announced today.

Tracey has been a positive to come from the Sharks recent performances, with his energy, support play and running game a feature, while Graham returns from a two-game suspension to play his first game as a starting five eighth since 2015.

In other team changes, Sione Katoa and Josh Dugan come out, replaced by Nene MacDonald and Mawene Hiroti, with Siosifa Talakai and Briton Nikora the back-row pairing as a result of Graham’s positional switch.

On 20 competition points and with an inferior percentage to the seventh placed Rabbitohs, the Sharks can finish no higher than eighth, however their opponent in week one of the finals is set to be determined on Saturday.

A win by the Sharks this weekend will mean they head to Canberra to play the Raiders for a second week in a row, while a Canberra victory and an Eels loss to the Tigers in the late game on Saturday, would see a Cronulla v Parramatta finals match up.

Should the Eels beat the Tigers it would confirm the Raiders as the Sharks finals opponents.

The 21-man Sharks and Raiders squads are listed below.
