The Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership team enjoyed a solid, yet hard fought victory in round one and will be looking to start their season with two wins in succession when they host the North Sydney Bears on Saturday.
The Sharks built on a narrow 6-4 half time lead over the Central Coast Roosters last week in pushing their advantage out to 16-4, until a consolation try to their opponents in the final minute narrowed the final margin.
Fullback and captain Corban McGregor, half back Maddie Studdon and hooker Kaala Cowan were the Sharks try scorers on the day.
Their opposition this week in the Bears were soundly beaten 26-0 by Mounties in their first round match.
