John Morris’s NYC Sharks continued their impressive 2017 campaign with a 36-14 win over the Dragons as they moved to second place on the Holden Cup ladder.
It was the second win by the young Sharks over their local rivals and has them now trailing just the Panthers after the first 10 rounds of the season.
This week however they again face one of the competition heavyweights in the Cowboys, a team sitting three points behind the Sharks and in fifth position on the NYC table.
While the Sharks go into the match on the back of a three-game winning streak, the North Queensland side arrives at Southern Cross Stadium after three consecutive losses, meaning they are likely to be fired up in a bid to get their season heading in a positive direction again.
The Sharks have named their preliminary 23-man squad, with no surprises and no changes to the 17 who took on the Dragons last Friday night.
The game is scheduled to get underway at 5.05pm, before the Women’s Series match against Manly and the NRL clash at 7.50pm.
