A nail-biting 26 to 20 extra-time win for North Queensland over the Broncos in Townsville has set up a mouth-watering Preliminary Finals clash between the Sharks and Cowboys at Allianz Stadium next Friday night.
Despite being down by two points late on in the contest, a penalty goal for the Cowboys via the boot of Johnathan Thurston would send the game into overtime.
Thurston then sent his halves partner Michael Morgan over to score in the 84th minute, all-but icing the result before the change of ends.
The Sharks and Cowboys last met in week two of the 2015 NRL Finals series, and prior to that, in week one of the 2013 play-offs.
