For our final home game of 2016, there’s plenty happening at Southern Cross Group Stadium this Saturday.
The Cronulla Sharks have partnered with Electronic Arts and their new Battlefield 1 match for the game with a series of activations both on and off the field to bring the highly-anticipated game to life!
The Sharks players will be wearing a specially designed Battlefield 1 jersey, which takes it’s inspiration from the true nature of the new console game.
Off the field, there will be a Battlefield 1 photo booth at the Eastern entrance, where Sharks Members and fans will have the opportunity to win a Battlefield 1 Limited Edition Sharks Jersey, Xbox One Console, a copy of Battlefield 1* on the Xbox One and a Battlefield 1 merchandise pack along with a bespoke Battlefield 1 promotional team poster.
The match at Southern Cross Group Stadium also marks Michael Ennis’ final home NRL game of his career, with the Club set to put on a series of mementos on the evening for the outgoing star.
There will be Mick Ennis face masks to be circulated around the ground and people are urged to put them up in the air on Mick’s arrival to the field of play.
Following the match, there will be a special on-field presentation to Mick Ennis with all Sharks Members and fans urged to stay and celebrate Ennis’ career.
Our Sharks Fan Wall will be in full swing on the evening too with fans encouraged to use the #OurBattlefield and #ThanksMick hashtags on the night!
The night will also see the historic Women’s 9’s clash to be played between the Cronulla Sharks and the St George-Illawarra Dragons at 6:30pm.
The match is the first of it’s kind, with no official NRL Club’s fielding Women’s teams in a match before.
Prior to NRL kick-off, there will be JRL mods, touch football, a Michael Ennis highlights video, the Rob and Liam Footy Show along with our very own Battlefield 1 hype video.
Half time will see the Cronulla Sharks Mermaids bring their squad down and perform their Battlefield 1 styled routine along with Rob and Liam announcing the winner of Battlefield 1 social competition.
Following the match, there will be a post-match presentation in the Sharks Leagues Club auditorium where Members and fans will have the chance to hear from Head Coach Shane Flanagan along with all award winners on the night.
Around the grounds, we’ll have our usual inflatable obstacle course, 6-in-1 castle, Sharks slide, 2 x roaming face painters, DJ’s at either entrances, 2 x morph suit characters, drummers in the Shark Tank along with Black, White and Blue flags around the Stadium.
As have been available in 2016, Southern Cross Group Stadium’s new and improved food options will showcase Howling Forest, Berlin Bangers, Cantina Movel, Cherry Highway, Street Sliders, Pizza Trailer and Cheese Toasties, so for those at the game on Sunday be sure to take advantage of these tasty offerings.
