It was with deep sadness that on Thursday evening, the Cronulla Sharks were informed of the passing of life-long supporter, 108-year-old Thelma Spencer.

The Club was made aware of Thelma’s long-term support ahead of the Sharks’ Round 15 match against the Knights in Newcastle, with players and staff quickly endeared by her charm.

“It is a sadness shared by us all, blended with the most incredible memories of a most amazing experience in Newcastle,” Sharks Group CEO Lyall Gorman said. “Our loving thoughts and prayers are sent to the Spencer family.

“We bid farewell physically to a most remarkable soul and spirit, but she will never leave our hearts and memories.”

The Cronulla Sharks pass on the deepest of condolences to the family and friends of Thelma.

Rest in peace.
