The NRL is now starting to gather some momentum, with news outlets producing previews and rugby league content with the season fast approaching.

In Sharks in the News for Today, in a video interview Matt Johns gives his opinions of the Sharks prospects in 2015, the Tigers Hep A scare due to three players eating contaminated berries rated a mention, while AAP produced a trial preview which received a run all the way over in the west in the Western Australian newspaper.

And if you haven’t seen it, be sure to check out Paul Gallen’s attempt at surfing the waves at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. Thankfully he didn’t do himself any permanent damage.

Better late than never
Apologies as we neglected to provide the answers to our Monday trivia questions regarding first try scorers in a couple of significant games from the history of the Sharks.

The first-ever Sharks try scorer in a trial, which was in a game played during the 1967 pre-season, was former referee and Ex-Shark – Jack Danzey

The first try in a premiership match, also in 1967 – John ‘Bomber’ Hynes.

And the first Super League try scorer for the Sharks in 1997 – Andrew Ettingshausen

Finally, a little more recently, the first try scorer in the Sharks trial match against Manly two weeks ago - Leonardi Feiloakitau-Fetuani – with Leonardi a Newtown Jets contracted player who ran out for the Sharks in the first half of our Manly trial.

We will give half a point for Jacob Gagan who was the first Sharks contracted player to score in that match.
