The NYC Sharks have gone down by 32-10 to the competition leading Brisbane Broncos in their round 16 match at Suncorp Stadium.

The Sharks were first to score but their opponents proved too good, racing to an 18-6 half time lead before going on with it in the second half.

The match had barely begun when Josh Addo-Carr crossed for the Sharks and when Valentine Holmes converted from wide out the visitors had plenty of reason to be optimistic a positive evening would follow as they led 6-0.

The Sharks held the advantage for 15 minutes but from there the first half went the way of the Broncos, four tries and one conversion seeing them go to the break 18-6 in front.

Brisbane added to their lead in the early moments of the second half to go ahead by 22-6, before the Sharks gave themselves some hope when Anthony Moraitis crossed.

Although the conversion was waved away the gap had been narrowed with still 18 minutes left on the clock.

Unfortunately that would be as close as the Sharks would get, two more Brisbane tries blowing the margin out to 22 with the final score 32-10 to the home team.

The Sharks remain on 11 competition points with three wins and a draw to show for their 14 games in 2014.

There next match is against the Sydney Roosters next Saturday afternoon at Allianz Stadium.
