In a first-time initiative the Sharks are giving fans an opportunity to have their say in the jersey their team will go to battle in during the 2014 season.

Members and fans can vote for their favourite Alternate Jersey design from the four NRL-approved jersey options, in giving those most passionate about the club an opportunity to select the strip the players will run out in at various games throughout the 2014 season.

There are four different designs to choose from, with the jersey to be a dark coloured alternative to the traditional-blue main Sharks playing strip. The requirement for a predominantly dark jersey is in keeping with NRL guidelines.

The Sharks main jersey will remain the traditional blue with black and white hoops in 2014, with the alternate necessary when competing against teams with a similar light-coloured jersey.

Voting is open now, but closes February 5 to give Sharks apparel partner Blades opportunity to put the new alternate jersey into production prior to the kickoff to the 2014 season.

Check out the design offerings, then follow the link and indicate your preference, with votes from 2014 Sharks members carrying extra weight.
