Cassie Staples has been a consistent and reliable force on the wing or at fullback for the Sharks since the NRLW team first started.
She was a junior netball star and played in the State League for 5 years with the Sutherland Stingrays.
But after seeing Australia's Rugby Sevens team win gold at the 2016 Olympics, Staples was inspired to give it a go.
She went on to win a Commonwealth Games silver medal and two World Series golds for Australia, before making her way to rugby league.
Her first NRLW season was with the Dragons in 2022, before moving to Cronulla in 2023 and playing there ever since.
A proud Australian-Fijian woman, Staples captained Fiji to its first-ever qualification for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.
