Sharks announce NRLW squad signings

Players to have come through the Sharks pathways system, others who have joined from rival NRLW clubs and a former Australian rugby sevens representative are amongst an exciting crop of Sharks Development and Supplementary list signings for the 2026 season.

Genevieve Mafi, a front rower who played a leading role in a Sharks Tarsha Gale team which won their way into the 2026 under-19’s Grand Final, will be joined by Marewa Samson, Olivia Herman and Koffi Brookfield, all members of the premiership winning Sharks NSWRL Harvey Norman Premiership team of 2025.

Samson plays in the outside backs, Herman in the halves, while Brookfield, also a part of the Sharks Tarsha Gale team earlier this year and named Female Pathways Player of the Year, is a hooker who recently represented Country under-19’s in their annual match against City.

Joining them will be Leilani Ahsam, a versatile middle forward from Queensland who was on the Knights NRLW development list in 2024 and in their Top 24 squad in 2025.

While last but far from least is the addition of Milla Elaro, an Australian rugby sevens representative as a pregnancy replacement player who joins the Sharks full-time NRLW training squad.

Elaro, from Westfield Sports High, a strong ball runner known for her physicality, is an exciting prospect looking to make the transition from rugby to rugby league and to the Sharks in the NRLW competition.

The NSW Women’s Premiership season kicks off for the Sharks on Saturday when they host the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Ocean Protect Stadium. That match is scheduled to get underway at 11am.
