Two of the three Sharks to play in Origin game one will back up for the clash with the Sea Eagles later tonight, with one sidelined for the round 13 clash at Ocean Protect Stadium.
While Briton Nikora will rest up and recover from Wednesday night's bruising encounter, Sharks co-captain Blake Brailey and his NSW teammate Addin Fonua Blake will take their places in the Sharks team for what shapes as a challenging assignment against a Manly side which has won seven of their past eight matches.
Brailey had a significant impact when thrown into the Origin game in the second half, with the Sharks hooker set to lead his team into battle later tonight, while Fonua-Blake's second half effort helped to put the Blues on the front foot during their late comeback.
Queensland representative Nikora, although coming through the Origin game without any significant or serious injury concerns, will sit out tonight's game.
Billy Burns has been elevated into the starting side in the backrow in place of Nikora.
In another change to the Sharks line up, centre KL Iro was ruled out with a knee laceration, with his place to be taken by Mawene Hiroti.
The extended Sharks bench includes Jesse Colquhoun, Siosifa Talakai, Tom Hazelton, Hohepa Puru, Riley Jones and Jayden Berrell.
In other team news, half back Niwhai Puru makes his NRL debut and Cameron McInnes will play his 100th game in Sharks colours.
The Sharks and Sea Eagles will play for the Steve Rogers Memorial Trophy, while the match will be a part of the Sharks Mental Health Round, an initiative conducted in partnership with Tommy Herschell and Find Ya Feet.
