An elbow injury to influential hooker Jayden Berrell meant Newtown faced an uphill battle for the majority of last weekend's 42-12 loss to the Raiders at GIO Stadium.

Back at Henson Park against the St George Illawarra Dragons this Saturday, the Jets are aiming to get up and running again having not won since Round 3.

The likes of fullback Kade Dykes, Mawene Hiroti and halfback Niwhai Puru loom as crucial players as Newtown (ninth) look to topple the sixth-placed Dragons, who have lost two straight and are coming off a 19-18 defeat to the Roosters.
