Taco Team List Tuesday: Sharks v Bulldogs

Having opened the season with a gritty win over the Warriors, Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon is trusting the same 17 players to get the job done against the Bulldogs on a momentous Friday night.

The first home game of the year is an unmissable event, with revered co-captain Dale Finucane to make his 250th NRL appearance at a pumping PointsBet Stadium. Fellow skipper Cameron McInnes will record his 50th game for the club.

Finucane, who began his illustrious career with Canterbury in 2012, has been selected to bring his trademark passion and effort off the interchange.

As expected, Fitzgibbon has kept the faith from last week, however Royce Hunt is set to revert to the bench with Toby Rudolf starting at prop. Outside back Sam Stonestreet has joined the extended interchange in place of Mawene Hiroti.

Five-eighth Braydon Trindall is free to take his place after accepting an early guilty plea for a grade one careless high tackle, resulting in a $1000 fine.

Cronulla met the Bulldogs only a few weeks ago in their second and final Pre-Season Challenge trial match at Belmore Sports Ground, grinding out a 12-6 win.

A similarly impressive defensive effort was the cornerstone of the Round 1 victory at Go Media Stadium in Auckland. Fitzgibbon's troops held the Warriors scoreless from the 13th minute mark, rallying back from two tries down to secure a 16-12 triumph.

The Sharks are now shooting to win their opening two games of the season for the first time since 2008. They boast a strong record against Canterbury, winning the past five head-to-head clashes by 12 points or more.

Kick off on Friday is scheduled for 6pm AEDT.  Secure a ticket here or catch the action live on Foxtel or Kayo if you can't attend.
