Jersey Flegg Team List - Round 2

Round one was a daunting assignment, with the Sharks forced to travel to New Zealand to tackle the Warriors, however in mirroring the success of their NRL counterparts the under-21 Cronulla side managed to record an impressive victory.

The Sharks ran in seven tries in a 36-10 romp against the Kiwi team, their victory highlighted by a two-try performance from newcomer Michael Gabrael.

After starting the season in the under-19 SG Ball team, Gabrael received the call up to the Flegg squad and didn’t disappoint, his two four-pointers late in the match putting the finishing touches on a solid Sharks win.

It was a match in which the Cronulla side wore down their opposition, taking a 14-6 lead to the half time break before going on with the job in the second period.

The Sharks will now look to build on their round one triumph when they tackle the Bulldogs on Saturday in a round two clash at the Terry Lamb Complex at Chester Hill in Sydney.

The Bulldogs have proven to be a difficult opponent, having beaten the Sharks on the two occasions the teams met in 2023, while the Canterbury team also come into the match with some opening week form on the board after a 30-6 victory over the Eels in round one.

The Sharks v Bulldogs Jersey Flegg match is scheduled to kick off at 4.00pm.
