Hynes ruled out of Sharks trial team

Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes will miss his team's trial match against the Bulldogs due to a minor quadriceps issue.

Hynes, a member of the victorious Indigenous All Stars team alongside Sharks teammate Braydon Trindall last week, reported tightness in his quad at his team’s final training session earlier today.

With the season now just three weeks away, as a precautionary measure and to have him ready for the upcoming season, Hynes will be rested for what is the Sharks' final trial at Belmore Sports Ground tomorrow night.

He is expected to be fully fit ahead of the Sharks' round one clash with the Warriors on March 8.

Daniel Atkinson, wearing jersey No.22, will replace Hynes at halfback.

Otherwise, the Sharks team to tackle the Bulldogs will be as named on Tuesday, with the likes of Will Kennedy, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Jesse Ramien, Toby Rudolf and Blayke Brailey to have their first official hit outs for 2024, while Briton Nikora, Royce Hunt and Trindall return from All Stars duties.
