Taylor ready for big 2024 NRLW season after shoulder surgery

After having shoulder surgery to repair an injury she carried in the latter stages of the NRLW season, dynamic Sharks fullback Jada Taylor is on the mend and looking ahead to an exciting 2024.

The 20-year-old speedster, who impressed with two tries in six games in 2023, underwent a successful Latarjet procedure to stabilise her shoulder last Tuesday.

Taylor was hurt in a tight loss to the Broncos in round seven but was able to delay going under the knife and play the final two matches.

With a six-month rehabilitation timeframe, the former Rooster is expected to be fit for the start of pre-season training leading into the new NRLW campaign in July.

"I'm looking forward to getting back to full strength and preparing for a massive season with the Sharks next year," Taylor said.

"There were a lot of positive signs for our team this year, especially with it being the Sharks' first NRLW season, but we're determined to improve and reach the finals in 2024. I'll be working hard to take my game to the next level."

The NRLW draw was released alongside the men's fixtures on Monday, with the Sharks women to kick off against the Cowboys at PointsBet Stadium on July 27.

The Tony Herman-coached side will play three other home games including an NRL double-header, with both the women and men to tackle the Knights on August 18.
