On the annual Beer, Footy and Food Festival and in front of a massive Henson Park crowd the Jets slumped to a disappointing loss to the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles last weekend, however they have a chance to respond and to consolidate their place inside the top four on the Knock On Effect NSW Cup table when they play the Panthers on Saturday.
Fielding a team missing a number of their regulars, the Jets fell behind early and were unable to claw their way back into the contest, the 28-12 loss seeing them remain in third place, trailing just the Bears and Bulldogs on the competition ladder.
This week the Newtown game against the Panthers is the second of three matches to be played at BlueBet on Saturday, with a Jersey Flegg match the curtain raiser and the Sharks v Penrith NRL game to follow.
