A dominant second half performance against the Wests Tigers delivered the Sharks their third consecutive win last week however the challenge steps up a notch when they travel to New Zealand to tackle fellow finals contenders the Warriors on Sunday.
The Sharks went to half time 12-all with the Tigers, however highlighted by a hat trick of tries to Sione Katoa were able to come away with a victory that would maintain their position inside the top four on the NRL ladder.
This week they head across the Tasman for the first time since 2019, following two Covid affected years then a 2022 season where the Sharks weren’t drawn to play the Warriors in New Zealand.
In team news, while the Sharks will again be without Dale Finucane and Royce Hunt due to suspension and injury, Braden Hamlin Uele has been named in the extended squad. Hamlin Uele missed the Sharks win over the Tigers last Thursday night.
With the status of Hamlin-Uele yet to be confirmed, the Sharks have chosen the same team as the one which beat the Wests Tigers, with youngster Jesse Colquhoun in line to play his second game of the season after a solid first up showing last week.
Toby Rudolf will also play his second match following a long lay off with a toe injury.
