Late Mail - Sharks v Cowboys

The Sharks again report no injury issues or changes to their team for the round 9 Paul Green Medal match against North Queensland at PointsBet Stadium later tonight.

On a night where the Sharks and Cowboys come together to honour the legacy of Green, a former player and premiership winning coach, Cronulla coach Craig Fitzgibbon has named the same team which has been successful in winning their past two matches against the Roosters then Bulldogs.

Tonight’s game will be the first between the two teams since the Cowboys won a golden point thriller during last year’s Finals series.

While the Cowboys will rely on two former Sharks in Valentine Holmes and Chad Townsend, the home team will be looking for similar performances from the likes of Briton Nikora and Will Kennedy, with the pair outstanding in the last start win over the Bulldogs.

In celebrating the life and career of Green, the best player on the night as adjudged by the winning coach, will be presented with the inaugural Paul Green Medal, with a large contingent of his family, friends and former teammates set to be in attendance on the night.

Green’s daughter Emerson and son Jed will lead the two teams out onto PointsBet Stadium prior to the match kicking off.

The Sharks v Cowboys clash is scheduled for a 7.50pm kick-off, with the two 17-man teams, along with concussion substitutions, listed below.
