PointsBet Late Mail - Round 8 v Cowboys

Following a week off due to a round seven bye, the Sharks are back in action later tonight when they take on the North Queensland Cowboys at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville.

For the match which kicks off at 6.00pm, the Sharks welcome back the inspirational Cameron McInnes, the co-captain to play his first match of the 2026 following his recovery from an ACL tear suffered late last season.

In other team news, coach Craig Fitzgibbon has made one significant change to the side beaten by the Roosters at their last start, with Mawene Hiroti moving to the wing, Siosifa Talakai from the interchange bench to the centres, with Sione Katoa omitted.

Otherwise, the Sharks team is unchanged, with youngster Jesse Colquhoun to start the game at lock, with McInnes to be injected into the contest from the bench.

The Sharks are 1-17, with Hohepa Puru and Riley Jones the 18th and 19th players on the six-man bench.

The two 19-player squads are listed below.
