Jets Team List – Round 7

Three wins and two losses, followed by a round six bye, has represented a somewhat up and down start to the 2023 season for the Newtown Jets who host the Sydney Roosters in a round 7 match up.

The Jets were their own worst enemies in a loss to the Bulldogs prior to the bye, however with a weekend off to reassess, the Newtown team will be keen to deliver a strong performance in front of their home crowd in the game scheduled for a 3.00pm kick-off at Henson Park on Saturday.

Again the Jets will have a sprinkling of Sharks full time NRL squad members, included amongst then energetic five eighth Daniel Atkinson and his young halves partner Niwahai Puru.

With injuries and suspension taking its toll on the Sharks NRL team, the ripple down effect means the Jets will be weakened by the loss of Ton Hazelton who moves up the NRL squad for Friday night’s game, with his promotion a reflection of his outstanding form for the Jets through the opening rounds of the season.

The match also represents the return to the field for Matt Ikuvalu, with the hard running winger having been out of the game for an extended period after suffering a serious knee injury last season.

See below the Jets team list for Saturday’s game.
