Dodd to lead Indigenous All Stars

Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership hooker Quincy Dodd has given been the honour of leading the Women’s Indigenous squad onto the field for Saturday’s All Stars match after being named team captain.

The co-captain in 2022, Dodd will this year skipper her team against the Māori Women’s All Stars for the clash scheduled for a 1.30pm (AEST) kick-off at the Rotorua International Stadium.

The game will be broadcast live on Channel 9, Fox Sports and on Kayo.

In the Māori team and opposing Dodd will be her Sharks HNWP teammates Zali Fay and Brooke Anderson.

A Sharks junior, Dodd was a member of the premiership winning under-18 Tarsha Gale team in 2018 and since graduating into senior women’s rugby league has made one Origin appearance for the NSW Sky Blues, twice represented the Prime Minister’s 13 against PNG and is a valued member of the Sharks HNWP team.

The HNWP Sharks won through to the competition Grand Final in 2022 only to go down in extra time to the Wests Tigers.

This will be the 22-year-old Dodd’s fifth appearance in the All Stars, with her Indigenous team successful in winning the 2022 encounter 18-8 in a match played at CommBank Stadium in Sydney.

The NRL men’s All Stars match, featuring Sharks Nicho Hynes and Bradyen Trindall for the Indigenous, Briton Nikora and Royce Hunt for the Māori, follows the women match at Rotorua International Stadium, Rotorua, kicking off at 3.45pm (AEST).
