Jets Team List – Round 24

The Jets were successful in winning their seventh game in succession, however they will need one more victory if they hope to claim Knock-On Effect NSW Cup minor premiership.

The Newtown side was impressive in putting the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles to the sword last weekend, their 50-8 victory setting up a round 24 match against the Bulldogs, a game which could see them finish in the top spot at the end of the regular season and earn a week off in round one of the Finals.

Their closest pursuers in the Panthers are two points behind but have a bye this week, and a superior for-and-against, meaning a loss would see the Jets finish in second position on the ladder.

Under the format of the five-teams Finals series, the minor premiers get a weekend off in week one.

The Bulldogs will definitely present a difficult challenge, currently sitting third after a narrow win over the Eels last week, however while they could drop to fourth were they to lose, they can’t improve their position on the table with a win.

The Jets v Bulldogs match will be played at Henson Park at the Newtown Old Boys reunion day on Saturday, kicking off at 3.00pm.
