Late Mail - Sharks v Cowboys

Young Sharks forward Jess Colquhoun will make his NRL debut tonight when the Sharks take on the North Queensland Cowboys tonight.

Colquhoun, who will become Shark #553, comes onto the interchange bench in replacing NSW Origin utility Siosifa Talakai who is a late withdrawal.

Connor Tracey retains his place in the Cronulla backline in Talakai's absence.

Experienced forward Aiden Tolman has come out of the Sharks team as selected on Tuesday, with Braden Hamlin-Uele to play his second game after having recovered from a pectoral tear suffered back in round six.

Nicho Hynes and Toby Rudolf, both missing from last week's win over Melbourne due to Covid, are back on deck for the Sharks in tonight's game against a fellow top-four aspirant in the Cowboys.

Braydon Trindall, outstanding in the Sharks win over the Storm, will be the 18th man/concussion substitution for tonight's game.

As for their opponents, North Queensland have rested their Origin players including Valentine Holmes and Tom Dearden, with prop Jordan McLean also sidelined after injuring a hamstring while in NSW Origin camp.

The match sees the Sharks come up against former teammate and 2016 Premiership winner Chad Townsend who joined the Cowboys in 2022.

The Sharks v Cowboys match kicks off at 6.00pm at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
