Aramex delivers with support of Sharks Women

In expanding its partnership with the Sharks, major partner Aramex Australia has thrown their support behind the Club’s women’s rugby league pathways program in announcing a major sponsorship of the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership (HNWP) and Tarsha Gale Cup teams in 2022.

Already front of jersey partner of the Sharks NRL team, the Aramex branding will now also feature on the two women’s team jerseys, joining new sleeve sponsor Shore Hire and returning partner Minespec Parts as sponsors of the HNWP and Tarsha Gale Cup squads.

With the club having recently revealed an impressive list of HNWP players for next season, while also boasting recent success at the age group level in the Tarsha Gale competition, the Sharks girls claiming the under-18’s title in 2018, Cherie Kellahan, Chief Marketing Officer of Aramex Australia, was excited to be extending her company’s association with the Cronulla club to now also include their women’s pathways.

“Aramex Australia is proud to announce we have signed on as the principal sponsors of the Cronulla Sharks Harvey Norman Premiership and Tarsha Gale Women’s rugby league teams for the 2022 season,” Ms Kellahan began.

“It’s an honour to support rugby league players of all ages, gender and skill, as we do through our partnership with the Sharks at an NRL level, with the Cronulla Junior Rugby League across all their competitions in the Sutherland Shire and now with the senior Sharks women and Tarsha Gale Cup squads.

“Women’s Rugby League is the fastest growing segment of the game and we are excited to be part of it. Up, up,” Ms Kellahan added.

The extension of the partnership further solidifies the relationship between the Sharks and Aramex, with CEO Dino Mezzatesta appreciative of the support offered by all the three corporate partners of the Club’s women’s teams.

“The Sharks have been leaders in providing opportunity for women rugby league players and as our intent is to further expand in this area and push for an NRLW license in the future, sponsorship support is vital,” Mezzatesta said.

“We look forward to successful 2022 seasons for our women’s teams and for those corporate partners who support them and thank Aramex, as well as Shore Hire and Minespec Parts, for sharing our vision and ambition to grow our women’s rugby league programs here at the Sharks.”

A new addition in relation to the women’s space at the Sharks in 2022 will be Shore Hire, a locally based company offering one of Australia's most complete shoring, propping and traffic product ranges.

While returning in 2022 will be Minespec Parts, currently also the major sponsor of the Sharks Mermaids.

A Queensland based organisation which helps deliver new opportunities to turn idle assets and surplus parts into additional revenue streams, Minespec Parts are back of jersey sponsor of the women’s teams, with Shore Hire to feature on the jersey sleeves.

As reported on the Sharks website in recent week, the HNWP Sharks look set to be amongst the contenders for the NSWRL women’s crown next year after an impressive off-season recruitment drive, with a number of highly regarded newcomers set to complement the returning stars from 2021.

After finishing third last season, the Finals series was abandoned due to the Covid shutdown with the Sharks highly competitive throughout the year.

As for the Tarsha Gale Sharks, in what is a pathway to the senior ranks, the Sharks have delivered considerable success in the competition that changed from under 18’s to under 19’s in 2021.

In addition to a premiership in 2018, the Sharks made the finals in each of the three subsequent seasons.

The Sharks women’s playing kit will have a design unique to them, featuring a variation to the strip worn by the NRL and Cronulla junior representative sides.
