Talakai to miss four matches

It was a hit that rocked Netstrata Stadium however Siosifa Talakai is now set to miss four matches after accepting the early guilty plea on a match review charge stemming from the game on Saturday night.

Talakai was assessed a grade three shoulder charge for a tackle on Bulldog Matt Doorey in the 25th minute of the match, with the 450-point penalty meaning he will be suspended for the Sharks next four games.

Should Talakai have challenged and failed to have the charge dismissed, the 600-point penalty would have seen him outed for six matches.

After having recently returned from off-season shoulder surgery, the loss of Talakai comes as a blow to a Sharks team now facing a tough run of matches over the next month.

The four-game suspension for Talakai will be somewhat off-set with Wade Graham (concussion) and Aiden Tolman (one match suspension) to return for the game against the Melbourne Storm on Friday night.
