Late Mail - Sharks v Knights

The Sharks can confirm the changes revealed last night when the team was trimmed down from the originally named 21, with Ronaldo Mulitalo ruled out for today's match against the Newcastle Knights.

After battling through recent weeks with a knee complaint, Mulitalo has succumbed to the injury, with the Sharks winger set to spend an extended period on the sidelines. Further tests will be required before confirming a time frame, with Mulitalo possibly to miss up to six weeks.

In his place for tonights game comes the versatile Connor Tracey, who has been shifted from centre to wing, with Teig Wilton going from the back row row into the Sharks backline.

Jack Williams, who has played strongly wider of the ruck when required so far this year, will start as an edge back rower, while Brayden Trindall has been brought into the 17 to take on the bench utility role.

Franklin Pele is the Sharks 18th man and concussion substitution.

Prior to the backline reshuffle, the Sharks had been forced into other changes to the team beaten by the Roosters last weekend, with Wade Graham and Josh Dugan ruled out due to concussion.

In a positive for the Sharks, Siosifa Talakai returns for his first game of the 2021 season having now fully recovered from off-season shoulder surgery.

The Sharks v Knights match is scheduled for a 6.00pm kick off, with the two 17-man squads, plus the concussion reserve players, listed below.
