Johnson out of Sharks 21

Shaun Johnson has aggravated his groin injury and has been replaced in the Sharks 21-man squad by young half Braydon Trindall.

The Sharks sought and were granted NRL approval to make the change, with Johnson re-injuring his groin at training on Wednesday, before medical staff officially ruled him out earlier today.

A time frame for Johnson’s recovery and potential return to the field has yet to be established.

The Sharks will reduce their 21-man squad to 19 players later today, 24-hours prior to game kick off as per NRL team announcement guidelines.

The Sharks play the Cowboys at Kogarah’s Jubilee Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) with kick off at 5.30pm.
