Unbeaten run ends for Tarsha Sharks

The winning streak of the Tarsha Gale Sharks came to an abrupt halt on Saturday with the girls soundly beaten by the St George Dragons at Mascot Oval.

The Sharks conceded eight tries in the 34-10 loss and following wins at each of their previous three games will now need to reassess and get back on track ahead of their round six clash this weekend.

The Dragons dominated from almost the outset, four first half tries setting up a 16-6 advantage, a lead which could have been greater had their goal kicking been on the mark.

As hard as the Sharks may have tried after the break, the Dragons proved to be far too good, four more second half four-pointers and one goal adding up to a dominant victory and leaving the Cronulla girls with work to do in the coming weeks.

For the Sharks Tia Hinds and Andie Robinson were the try scorers.

Despite the loss the Sharks still sit in four place on the Tarsha Gale ladder and this week host the Indigenous Academy representing the Sydney Roosters, a team which sits one place ahead of them on the competition table.

That match is scheduled for PointsBet Stadium, with kick off at 10am.
