They certainly had to work for it, however the Tarsha Gale Sharks have kept their unbeaten run to start the 2020 season alive with a hard-fought 26-20 victory over the Panthers.
The Sharks scored three first half tries in taking an 18-10 lead to the break, but they were forced to hang on in the closing moments in recording their third win from as many games this year.
Impressive fullback Jaime Chapman put the Sharks on the board with a try in just the third minute of the match, before two first half four-pointers from Andie Robinson had the Cronulla girls confident at the end of the opening period.
Tayah Beckett pushed the Sharks lead out to 22-10 with an early second half try but the Panthers responded, with their converted try six minutes from fulltime making for an exciting finish.
Showing plenty of character, the Sharks held firm, a late try from Bronti Westaway sealing the win which sees them sit it in a tie for top spot on the Tarsha Gale ladder.
The girls play the Dragons this Saturday in their next match.
