The Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership team have qualified in fourth position for the upcoming finals series, setting up a week one clash with Mounties on Saturday.
In a match to be played at Campbelltown Stadium, kicking off at 1.30pm, the Sharks face the same team which beat them in their last round match in consolidating the Minor Premiership and top spot on the competition ladder.
But rather than being intimidated by facing the NSWRL Women’s Premiership defending champions, the Sharks will fancy their chances of causing a boil over against Mounties despite going down by 20-12 last weekend.
The Sharks led early last Friday night through a try to Maddie Studdon but trailed 16-4 at the half time break.
A four-pointer to youngster Jaime Chapman narrowed the margin to just eight three minutes into the second half, however Mounties went on with the job, scoring four tries to three in the victory.
The Sharks were behind Mounties, North Sydney and CRL Newcastle on the HNWP ladder and have a double shot in the finals due to finishing inside the top four.
All HNWP matches will be played at Campbelltown, with the game day schedule below.
10:30am - Wests Tigers (6th) v Wentworthville Magpies (7th)
12:00pm – St Marys (5th) v Cabramatta (8th)
1:30pm – Mounties (1st) v Cronulla Sharks (4th)
