The Jets six-week unbeaten run came to an end against a red-hot Bulldogs outfit last Sunday, with Newtown side looking to bounce back when they host the St George Illawarra Dragons at Henson Park on Sunday.
After their slow start to the year the Jets went on an impressive run, winning five and drawing one of their last six, however they hit a hurdle with the Bulldogs loss in a game where they conceded 40 points in a disappointing defensive performance.
Despite the loss the Jets maintained their position inside the top eight but face a difficult assignment again this week with a game against the second-placed Dragons.
The Jets also go into the game without three young Sharks who have been selected in the NSW and Queensland teams for the Under 20’s Origin game, which is scheduled to be played as the curtain-raiser to State of Origin game three.
Backrower Teig Wilton will represent NSW, while halfback Braydon Trindall and centre Ronaldo Mulitalo will play for the Maroons.
The Jets v Dragons match is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick-off at Henson Park on Saturday.
