Winning run comes to an end for Flegg Sharks

The winning run of the Jersey Flegg Sharks has come to abrupt halt in suffering a 30-6 defeat to the Bulldogs in their round 16 match on Saturday.

The Sharks under-20's, sitting comfortably on top of the Jersey Flegg ladder and coming into the contest on the back of seven consecutive wins, were never really in the game, going to half time behind 20-0 and failing to mount any sort of second half comeback.

The lone bright spot was a try to rangy front rower Tom Hazleton in the 51st minute, with the conversion making the score 26-6 to their opponents, but the Sharks were unable to make any further inroads, a late Canterbury try sealing the result.

It was obviously a disappointing result against a committed opposition, but in what was only their second loss so far this season, the young Sharks can be forgiven one off day as they will look to rebound in their next game which is against the Warriors in two weeks time.
